2 Cutting Width hint: If you have to: always exceed no more than the thickness of the knife on each side (axial end or where the bore is), in other words, this knife can handle a 5/16 thick knife which exceeds 2 by 5/8 (twice 5/16) or a 2-5/8 knife assuming it is centered. The disadvantage of using heads too short is the time it takes to load the knife, when we grind custom knives, we use a flat piece of steel and lay it on the reference end of the knife and the tool head. Its typically on the fence side. When ever the knives are loaded you just put the knife in the head, lay a flat piece of steel and line up the axial end to the tool head, when its flush you are lined up, now set the radial or projection of the knife. Quick and easy. More difficult when the knife protrudes beyond the pocket.

Application Tips
Corrugated cutter heads can be used on shapers , moulders, tenonners, copy shapers and CNC Routers with arbor shank tool holders.
Question: Why do you take everything apart before you photograph it?
1) We take the tool apart and see if any of the threads are damaged and to make sure every thing works.
2) We balance the heads stripped, all components are independently balanced. (head, gibbs, screws) Unless we number the gibb to pocket, you can be assured the gibbs are free to move about the head. We generally try to achieve this. More work for us, but less room for error with your production staff. We measure each screw each gibb for balance to within .1 grams, often we hit it on the spot with a relief. Since we stock many of these heads, we have a drawer of screws which are weighed to the .1 of a gram. Instead of taking a little off the screw, we will swap for a set of balanced screws. Gibbs are relieved and balanced.

1. Can you explain the program?
Oella Saw and Tool came up with the program in April 2007 to further reduce our already reasonable shipping charges for our international clients. It basically allows you to optimize the weight limits of the US Postal Service's flat rate box program by holding the box until it has reached the 20 pound limit. This may take 1 night of auction purchases or a few weeks. There is no restrictions to the amount of time you need. If you are building your tooling investment and want to carefully select one or two pieces over a month you may do so. Once the box is full, we will ship immeditately and notify you with a tracking number. You may at any time request to ship your item(s).
2. How does it work?
It is simple, at checkout pay for your item(s) and flat rate box*. Indicate in the paypal payment or through an email "hold open box." Your item will be safely stored in your personal box until the shipping day.

Yes, typically a box will hold 35 sets of knives, sometimes more. At $4.50 per knife this would be quite a savings.
