Benefits of the revolutionary Rotary Manure Spreader: The "Traditional Box-Type" spreader The "Rotary" spreader Damage may occur if manure is too wet and/or heavy. ROTATING DRUM makes manure weight work FOR you! If it gets rained on, it works even better! Wet, stuck manure NO sticking, clumping or bridging. Broken chains cables NO chains or cables to break Rust holes in wagon Structural steel expanded metal drum powdered coated for corrosion resistance Worn out belts NO Belts Pasture unusable until waste has dissipated. Sometimes taking a year or more. Shredded manure dissipates within weeks of spreading, allowing horses to return to the pasture MUCH sooner. Discing or dragging fields Manure already shredded. No need to disc or drag. Large chunks flung out create Fly breeding condos! Shredded manure dries quickly, virtually eliminating fly-breeding potential! Hay, long grasses, or twine may jam blades and break chains. Uneaten hay collection system prevents clogging or jamming Heavy tongue weight when filled with manure. Weight makes it difficult to move and hitch up. Weight balanced in four-wheeled frame keeps weight off of movable hitch. An average 1,000-pound horse produces 9 tons of manure a year, 50 pounds per day, containing valuable fertilizer elements. Add to that an additional cubic foot of bedding material and you get 730 cubic feet/year from one horse. Manure management in pastures depends primarily on getting good distribution of manure across the pasture. The Rotary Manure Spreader is the most ecologically smart spreader to use because the manure is shred into small pieces that dry out and incorporate faster into the soil returning nutrients, enzymes, and microbial organisms to the soil within days. Pictured above is a typical spread laid out by the Rotary. STOP breeding those pesky, disease carrying flies! Mechanically Smart! The Rotary Manure Spreader is completely ground driven, no PTO to hook up, and no belts, chains, gears, or cables to wear out, bind up or break. The mechanically Smart Rotary contains no wood to rot or splinter. Heavy duty truck bearings, 1/8 inch structural steel, and angle iron covered with high-density powder coating make for a long lasting machine. The weight is evenly distributed on the four-wheeled frame. There is no weight on the hitch therefore requiring 1/2 the horse power to pull twice the weight. User Smart! The Rotary Manure Spreader is completely user friendly! Hydraulic lifts help raise and hold the lid. The opening of the barrel can be positioned at any height to accomodate muck buckets, wheel barrows, and front end loaders. Easily moved by hand when empty, and easy to hitch, gone are the days of needing two to spread! Poo In -- Poo Out! While visiting larger stables and boarding facilities, we found that owners were reluctant to hand over the keys to the large tractors, or allow the stable workers to use the larger equipment. This meant that when stalls were cleaned, the manure buckets or wheelbarrows were taken out and dumped on a manure pile to wait for the weekend for the owner or operator to spread with the 'traditional', sometimes temperamental, manure spreader. We saw stables with one or even two manure spreaders and they still had a large manure pile!? The owners were paying for a job going unfinished and they faced a monumental task that used up their free time that could have been used in playing and working with their horses! The rotary offers a better solution for the large stable owner! Just allow the stable workers to clean stalls directly into the rotary, hitched to a lawn tractor, four-wheeler, Gator, or Mule or even a golf cart, and then they can take it directly to the fields to be immediately spread! This will eliminate the necessity of a manure pile and will cut down on flies and odors near the barn. The largest benefit of the "system" is that the owners would be able to look forward to their weekends again!
