THIS AUCTION IS FOR A THROWMASTER MODEL 102A FLOWMETER/CABLE TESTER
FOR TESTING AND TRANSFER OF METALLIC TELEPHONE CABLE PAIRS
The Throwmaster Cable Test Set 102A is a portable, battery powered instrument for field testing telephone cable pairs. It is normally used by technicians as their primary test set. All functions normally associated with the testing of wire pairs and transfer of service may be accomplished using the Throwmaster 102A.
Accurately measures opens (up to 100,000 ft) as well as voltage, resistance.
Supplies talk battery, using a unique signaling function, talk battery is supplied and communication established. Handsets or headsets may be used on both ends.
Tests spare pairs, utilizing the same functions as a field test board, tests may be made for shorts, grounds, crosses, opens splits, and high resistance faults.
Tests working lines. Working lines may be tested for status of busy, idle, reversed, or special voltage.
Sends simplex 557 Hz tone for pair identification which is silent to subscribers.
Tone Buzz Around, normally used prior to pair transfers, the Buzz feature allows technicians to test old and new pairs simultaneously for defects and continuity.
Cut Closed (No Break) Cable Transfers, service may be transferred from one pair to another even while the subscriber is using the phone. There is no interruption of service.
When used as a cut closed transfer set, the 102A BUZZ tone verifies that both the old pair and the new pair are fault free, verifies that the jumper is connected properly, and holds the line in service while the actual wire work is done. The transfer operation may proceed even if the subscriber is on the phone. Operation of the BUZZ tone is completly silent to the subscriber.
The Throwmaster 102A can perform a metallic cable section throw in the same manner as a transfer.

FAIR: Noticeable signs of wear from heavy use and/or some functional issues. Functional issues will be listed in the auction description.
